Refimeve et le lapin blanc: French White Rabbit network in the news
The Refimeve network, with its 9000 km of fibre optic cables across the country, connects more than thirty labs, allowing them to synchronise to reference atomic clocks in Paris.

Refimeve stands for “Réseau fibre métrologie à vocation européenne” and transmits across its fibre optic network a frequency and time reference from the Observatoire de Paris.
In October, the French newspaper Le Monde, published an article about the network: “Le réseau Refimeve, un joyau français pour maîtriser le temps”
The article speaks about “le lapin blanc“, White Rabbit in French, which is deployed across the network and how it could be used, for example to connect distant radioastronomy antennas.
The network is growing and they expect to reach sixty connected users, including businesses. As the article finishes:
“Le lapin blanc” n’est pas près de s’arrêter.“
